Computers for copywriters
Writing, Sustainability, Business
When it comes to computers, our first questions are always: Do we need it? Can it save us time or money? Can it help us write more creatively, or get copy to our clients faster?

We like technology that makes our lives easier, rather than creating extra jobs to do each day. And we like stuff that enables us to do things we couldn't do before — like replying to emails easily on the move with an iPhone, or automating our invoicing with Billings.
Sustainable technology
We write about sustainability for companies like Nokia and Cadbury, brands that are leading the way when it comes to their environmental efforts. And we try extra hard to walk the talk too.
Technology helps us to be more sustainable by letting us do things like video conferencing that mean we can pledge never to fly on business. But we know it has an impact on the environment.
So we support efforts by Greenpeace and other organisations that encourage manufacturers to be more sustainable. And we do our bit too — like making sure we put our Macs to sleep whenever possible (this reduces power consumption by around 90% for an iMac).
In the coming months, we'll review some of the hardware, software and web apps we use every day. Do they make us better writers? Do they help us keep our clients happy? And are they sustainable?
