Writing for Spotlight means we’ve heard some really inspiring stories. In London, we learnt how a £175,000 loan from Unity enabled the Fitzrovia Trust to transform an old bomb shelter into a community nursery.

In Newcastle, we heard how a £1.16m loan from Unity helped Blue Flames — a Community Amateur Sports Club — build a new indoor sports hall to provide affordable sport and recreational facilities for people in the local and wider community. And in Rochdale, we heard how a £460,000 loan from Unity gave Peter Shawcross the opportunity to buy the pub where he’d worked for more than 15 years.

With such interesting material, the main challenge was fitting everything in. Impressed by how much Unity’s clients valued the bank’s personal service, we used plenty of quotes from clients to let their own words shine through.
