We usually send Christmas cards to our clients but this year we’ve decided to do something different.

We've donated the money we'd usually spend on cards to a charity that gives disadvantaged children the literacy skills they need to succeed in life: the National Literacy Trust.

Research shows 1 in 8 disadvantaged children in the UK say that they don’t have a book of their own

An independent charity, the trust works to improve reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in the UK's poorest communities, where one in three people have literacy problems.

Our £400 could go towards paying for books to help children start to enjoy reading and gain in confidence and skills. It could fund skills workshops that help teenagers get a job when they leave school. Or it could help families to develop their literacy.

As people who've been lucky enough to make a living from literacy, we hope this gift might help someone else take a small step towards realising their full potential.
